Nobody Wants This Netflix- Episode 3 Recap and Explained- begins with a giddy Joanne still dreaming about her kiss with Noah. She texts him, cracking a joke about her being pregnant because of how good the kiss was. On reaching home, she narrates her entire day leading up to the kiss to her sister Morgan and her mother. Meanwhile, Noah lands up at the hospital enquiring about his ex-girlfriend Rebecca’s health.
At the hospital, he is informed by his brother Sasha that Rebecca broke her wrist in an accident. Noah is relieved to hear of this as Rebecca’s mother told him that she was in the ICU instead. His and Rebecca’s family accuse him of being the reason she got into such an accident and pressure him into patching things up with her. Sasha’s wife Esther, who is also Rebecca’s best friend fears a rift growing in their families because of the breakup.
At Joanne’s house, an aura reader is called on as a special guest on the podcast. He finds it difficult to read Joanne’s aura, despite her being close to a rabbi, who has a proximal relationship with God. This aggravates an already stressed Joanne who awaits in anticipation for Noah’s response to her joke. Morgan warns her about cracking pregnancy jokes with men as it scares them away. She also advises her to be like other girls, which is what she thinks men prefer in their partners.

On her way back home, Joanne receives a phone call from a guy named Kyle, whom we later come to know is her ‘booty-call.’ She asks Kyle to reassure her of being a good person, who is good enough for a man like Noah. But her conversation with him is shortlived as it is interrupted by a dog stranded in the middle of the road. Joanne stops her car and helps the puppy out. In a wholesome moment with the dog, she asks him whether she is a good person, on which the dog showers her with licks and kisses. She then decides to take the dog home and hand him over to a shelter in the morning.

Back at the hospital, Noah has an emotional talk with his father about dating a gentile. To Noah’s surprise, his father encourages him to live his life on his own terms rather than listening to his mother or Esther. The next thing we know, Noah is setting on the porch of Joanne’s apartment as she enters with a dog in her arms. He apologizes for not reading and responding to the texts on time and tells her about Rebecca’s accident. The two share a romantic moment together, finding solace in each other’s company, after an agitating night of stress and unease.
