Netflix “Nobody Wants This” Episode 6 begins with Joanne, Morgan and Ashley discussing the significant drop in viewership of the podcast ever since Joanne started dating Noah. Morgan accuses Joanne of being private about her relationship, which causes the listeners to relate less to her repetitive stories. However, Joanne does not feel comfortable talking about her relationship publicly and must come up with something to win her audience back.
Back home, Noah is invited to ‘Vanderpump night’ with Joanne and Morgan. He attempts to win over Morgan with his wit and succeeds. But, a surprise visit from Joanne’s parents, including her father’s new boyfriend catches Noah off-guard. In order to woo her parents, Noah sucks up to them, giving Joanne the ick. He puts on a jacket over his sweatshirt, brings over a huge bouquet of sunflowers and appeases her parents. Joanne’s reaction to his behaviour is noticed by Morgan, who reminds her that she is being irked by her own boyfriend. Moreover, both the sisters are also disconcerted by their father’s sudden display of emotions towards his partner.

Joanne and Morgan have a heart-to-heart discussion about Noah’s abnormal behaviour. They discuss ex-boyfriends and their behaviours which gave them the ick. Joanne, who most certainly got the ‘ick’ decides to break up with Noah. Inside the house, Noah connects with their lonely mother, reassuring her about what a good mother she is. The mother tells Noah about their previously distant father who suddenly became so affectionate. Unable to get over her husband she pours her heart out to Noah, who listens patiently.

While Joanne has plans to break up with him, Noah manages to change her feelings. He apologises for behaving obnoxiously and admits to being weirded out himself. Moreover, he confesses about knowing of the relationship she shared with her father and understands her unease at the situation. They crack a joke about the jacket and the flowers and admit to liking each other a lot more than some random ick. Joanne is surprised at her maturity in dealing with the ick and realises that her relationship with Noah is more than something a mere ick could destroy.
