Kristen Bell and Adam Brody in “Nobody Wants This” Episode 5 Recap and Explained Noah and Joanne’s relationship takes a new turn as things start getting serious in Episode 5. Unable to keep their hands off each other, they decide to go away for the weekend to spend more time together. However, work gets in the way when Noah is asked to fill in for the head rabbi position at a Jewish camp. The couple then compromises and settles on spending their weekend at the camp.
Meanwhile, Morgan gets worried seeing Joanne so distracted from work because of Noah. Joanne is unable to attend an important meeting because of the weekend getaway and reluctantly leaves Morgan in charge. Morgan worries that her sister might be becoming too much of a pushover and changing herself for the new man in her life.
At camp, Noah is excited for Joanne to see him in his element as he introduces her to the kids and fellow rabbis. But, tension arises when he addresses Joanne as a friend in front of a female rabbi, in order to avoid getting slack for dating a gentile. The young girls, who refer to Noah as the ‘Hot Priest’ give Joanne a reality check about her delusion of dating Noah. Thereafter, she counsels them on womanhood and emotional independence, even though she feels hurt and insecure because of their remarks.

Back home, Morgan feels stressed about the meeting and calls Joanne for help. To find additional notes on Joanne’s laptop, she, along with Sasha goes to Noah’s place and discusses them being the loser siblings. Trouble brews for Noah at camp when the head rabbi returns unexpectedly. To conceal Joanne from his view, Noah asks for her to not be seen together in public while the head rabbi lurks around.

An already insecure Joanne takes this as the final straw and returns home to attend the meeting. But while she contemplates her decision, she encounters the female rabbi who teaches her about ‘Shabbat’ and the importance of spending time with loved ones. Meanwhile, Noah questions his actions and with the advice of the female rabbi, decides to keep up with the changing times and rectify his mistake. He breaks into Joanne and Morgan’s meeting and proposes to Joanne to become his girlfriend. He apologizes for hiding her at camp and asks for some time to accept these rapid changes. The episode ends on a happy note as the couple celebrates their first ‘Shabbat’ together in the middle of the restaurant, making their relationship public.
